Privacy

Bali Property Index is operated by PT Multiple Sources Property. This page explains what we collect and what we do with it. Plain version: we collect as little as possible. Your details go only to the party you choose to contact, and only when you press the button.

What we collect

  • The questions you type into the index, so we can answer them and improve the index. We don't link them to your identity.
  • If you ask for email alerts, your email address, used only to send the alerts you asked for.
  • If you press Photos and details on WhatsApp on an indexed listing, WhatsApp opens on your own phone or computer with the villa named. If you choose Prefer email?, the short form collects your email, your message if you write one, and which villa, and sends them to Bali Property Sourcing, which replies about this villa. We keep your email and message only to reply, and clear them after 30 days.
  • If you press Message the owner, Message an agency or Message the developer on an owner, agency or developer listing, your message goes to them and not to us. The short form's details (your name, email, your WhatsApp number if you give one, your message and which villa) go to that lister; the index keeps a copy only as long as needed to make sure it reached them, 30 days at most.
  • If you list as an owner, your photo ID and one document naming you on the lease or title. We check that the names match and nothing more, keep only the result, the document type and the date, and delete the ID and the document once the check is done.
  • Basic, aggregate traffic data (how many people visit, which pages). No tracking cookies, no advertising profiles.

Cookies

We use two small cookies. One remembers the currency you choose. The other remembers your last three questions, so we can show your recent searches and what's new since your last visit. When you come back, those questions are sent to us once to check what's new, and we don't keep them. Villas you save are stored in your browser only. None of this tracks you or builds a profile. Nothing on a plain page view goes to any other company: the typeface is served from this site, and the spam check on the short forms loads from Cloudflare only when you submit one.

What we never do

  • Your details go only to the party you choose to contact, and only when you press the button. When we arrange a viewing, they stay with us unless you ask us to pass them on, for example when you make an offer.
  • We don't sell your data to anyone.

Who else touches it

Only the services that run the index: our email provider (Resend), WhatsApp (Meta) for the viewing chat, and our host (Cloudflare). Each only handles what's needed to do its job.

How long we keep it

WhatsApp conversations: up to 24 months, then deleted. Reply "hapus" ("delete") any time and we delete yours straight away. Viewing request forms: only as long as needed to reply, and cleared after 30 days. Email alerts: until you unsubscribe, which is one tap in every email. If you unsubscribe, your email address is cleared 30 days later; the dates and the consent record stay. A data report sent with the "wrong?" button: its email address is cleared 90 days after the report is resolved. Our mail log keeps the recipient's address for 30 days. The questions you type are kept to improve the index, with any email address or phone number in them replaced before they are stored.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email index@baliindex.com, or reply "hapus" on WhatsApp.

Listings

The property figures on the index are collected from agencies' public listing pages. If you're an agency and want a listing corrected or removed, email index@baliindex.com.
